Port Mourant

An aromatic powerhouse of a rum, in a very estery style. Extremely warm, with enveloping notes of beeswax, very mineral and almost with a smoky touch. The oily darkness of its flavor is matched by notes of white flour, ripe fruits, cloves and aromatic plants: gentian, chamomile, cola nut. At the palate, the addition of water only seems to make it even more intense and flamboyant, with black pepper, aniseed, liquorice. In spite of the brutal intensity and the dry character, it remains surprisingly rounded and mouthcoating.
