An old rum from a legendary silent distillery in Trinidad, only slightly tamed by a finish of 70 months in ex-sherried whisky casks.

The tannic intensity is enhanced by an extra layer of raisiny richness, but it still is extreme. At the nose, we find huge esters, bergamot, cola, but also the aromatic notes of aniseed and liquorice, and of course the trademark deep dark oaky character. The influence of the finish is more evident at the palate: it starts juicy, rich, almost velvety, with a raisiny character and orange marmalade. Just when you think it’s sweeter and smoother than expected, it starts growing relentlessly towards the typical notes of liquorice and gentian root, black coffee and cloves, and towards a fiery hot and tannic finale. Hugely complex and with a long evolution in the glass.
