Caroni - 1997/2017

An elegant Caroni matured for 10 years in Trinidad, building the concentrated heavy aromas of oak and petrol so typical of tropical ageing, followed by 10 more years of slower maturation in Europe with a final refinement of 18 months in 2nd fill sherry cask. It’s an intense but lighter than usual Caroni, with a well-defined sweetness, a particularly graceful and perfumed floral hint, plus notes of black liquorice and pepper with a hint of leather.
