Traditionally made from molasses, this rum is very aromatic and balsamic as expected from this distillery, with a fresh, minty and oaky nose. Its olfactory intensity is also matched at the palate, thanks to the high oak extraction of its first 12 years of tropical maturation. It has a very tannic presence to balance the inherent round character of the sugar cane, resulting in a very juicy taste with spice and sweetness at the same time. Cinnamon, herbal extracts and a certain dark leathery quality build up in intensity towards a particularly warm and slightly astringent finale.
